CORBY, (Cumberland) near the r. Eden, opposite to Wetherall, 4 m. S. E. of Carlisle, and formerly a castle of the family of Salkelds; has been a gentleman's seat, ever since the conquest; and is now the seat of the Hon. Cha. Howard, Esq; who has a pleasant grand house here, built on a rock; out of which several of the rooms are hewn.
