CORKBURY, (Oxfordshire) 5 m. from Woodstock, was the seat and estate of Henry Danvers, E. of Danby; but soon after the Rest. that of Edw. Hide, E. of Clarendon, who took his title of Visc. from it, as has the eldest son of the family ever since. Part of the park here was a coney-warren before it was destroyed by the Earl of Clarendon. In a pit, not far from the lodge, there is a spring of a vitriol kind.
