HARWELL, (Nottinghamshire) near Bautre, bel. formerly to the Markhams, Townleys, and Wentworths; from which last, it was passed to the corp. of Newark, of whom Tho. Magnus bought it, and gave it to Anthony Gilby, a lieutenant-colonel in Newark garrison, whose posterity are or were lately tenants of it.
