HURSTMONCEUX, (Sussex) among woods, between Hailsham and Ashburnham, was once the seat of a family which took their name from it. It went by marriage to that of Fiennes, (afterwards Lds. Dacre) one of whom in the R. of Hen. VI. added 600 acres of land to his park here; and from them it came to the Lennards Earls of Sussex.
