KEDERMINSTER, (Worcestershire) 104 cm. 128 mm. from London, an ancient Bor. on the Stour, not far from the Severn, is a compact T. of 5 or 600 houses, where the people, who are at least 2000, drive a pretty good trade in cloth, and weaving linsey-woolsey, &c. and have a handsome Ch. two good fr. scs. a ch. sc. and a almshs. &c. 'Tis governed by a bailiff, 12 capital burgesses, 25 C.C. &c. who have a Town-hall. It formerly sent members to Pt. and gives title of Baron to the Ld. Foley, as it did, in the R. of Rich. II. to John Beauchamp, steward of his houshold. This p. extends to Bewdley-Bridge, has a Mt. on Th. Fairs on Holy-Th. 9 days after Whit-Sund. and Aug. 24. The Bisets were the ancient Lds. of this manor.
