KEMPTON, (Hertfordshire) on the N.W. side of Digswell, near the source of the Kime. It was anciently called Huckinghanger, and afterwards came to Ld. Mordaunt, in whose family it continued many generations, till it was sold to Tho. Hoo, Esq; in the R. of Q. Eliz. It afterward's came, by marriage, to the late Sir Jon.
