KETTERING, (Northamptonshire) 57 cm. 72 mm. from London, is a handsome populous T. of good trade, by a r. that runs into the Nen, with a sessions-house for the Co. and a small hos. Near 2000 hands are said to be employed here in the mf. of shalloons, tammies and serges. The woollen trade was introduced here in the last century by one Mr. Jordan. Here is a ch. sc. of 20 girls employed in spinning jerseys. The Mt. here is on F. and Fairs Tu. before Easter, Easter-Th. the Ths. before Michaelmas, and St. Thomas's-day.
