KINGSCOT, (Gloucestershire) on the E. side of Dursley, is a chapel of ease to Beverston. It bel. in the Conqueror's time, to the honor of Berkeley; but has been, above 590 years, in the family of Kingscot, by marriage with a daughter of Ld. Berkeley of Berkeley-Castle. Here is supposed to have been a Roman station, from a multitude of Roman coins ploughed up there some years ago, besides a large statue of stone, and a Fibula Vestiaria of silver, chequered and enamelled.
