KINGSTON, (Nottinghamshire) on the Soare, near Leicestershire, was formerly the seat of the Babingtons, till a part of it was forfeited by Anth. Babington, for being in a conspiracy against Q. Eliz. and the other part was sold by his brother Francis to George E. of Shrewsbury, whose daughter, the Css. of Kent, conveyed it to the Lady Hide; whose descendant, Sir Thomas, was not very long ago the owner of it.
