reckoned a part of its constablery, and bel. in the R. of Henry V, to the great family of Montfort, Lds. of Beldesert in
this Co. From them it passed, with Wellesburn, to the Butlers, and from that family to Sir John Norbury and Will. Belknap,
Esq;. And in the R. of Hen. VII. it was sold to Nich. Brome of Badsley-Clinton, from whom it devolved, with Wellesburn, to
the Ferrers family,
