LETHERINGHAM, (Suffolk) on the S. side of Framlingham, was anciently the manor and seat of the Nauntons, who came in with Will. the Conq. and gave name to a neighbouring manor, called to this day Naunton-Hall. From them it passed to the Bovils, and then to the Wingfields; one of whom, Sir Anthony, obtained the site of a priory here at the Diss.
