LIDSTOW, (Devon) on the r. Lyd, not far from Holdsworthy, had, in Mr. Camden's time, a small Mt. which, though since
disused, it seems to have been anciently a place of some account; because it gives name to the H. The manor bel. formerly
to the Hollands Earls of Kent, then to the Nevils Earls of Westmoreland, and was purchased by John Harris serjeant at law.
