LUFFENHAM, NORTH and SOUTH, (Rutland) 4 m. from Uppingham, supposed to have been anciently one T. bel. in the R, of Henry I. to the Beauchamps. In later times the Digbys had a moiety of the manor of N. Luffenham; and the Harringtons had a manor there, which was bought in the R. of Charles I. by Henry Noel, second son of the Visc. Cambden, who made it his seat. Now it bel. to the Barker, Digby and Burton families. The Digbys have a mansion-house here, and Will. Burton, Esq; a very handsome house and gardens.
