LYDD, (Kent) 2 m. and half S. W. of Romney, of which T. and port it is a member, 63 cm. 75 mm. from London, is a populous T. with a Mt. on Th. and Fair July 13. 'Tis incorporated by the name of a bailiff, (elected July 22) jurats, and commonalty. In the Beach near Stone-End, is a heap of stones, fancied to be the tomb of Crispin and Crispianus. And near the sea, is a place, called Holmstone, consisting of beach and pebble-stones; which abounds nevertheless with holm-trees. Here is a ch. sc.
