NETTLESWELL, (Essex) on the S. W. side of Harlow, anciently bel. to Waltham-Abbey; but K. Hen. VIII. granted it to Rich. Heigham; and it was afterwards conveyed to Sir Rich. Weston, a judge of the K's.-bench. It was possessed in 1640 by Sir Will. Marten, and descended to his grandson, Will. Marten, who was buried here in 1717, after having left 1000 l. for a ch. sc. here.
