OSSINGTON, (Nottinghamshire) near Carlton upon Trent, bel. anciently to the Kts. of St. John of Jerusalem; but at the Diss. was given by K. Henry VIII. to Charles Brandon D. of Suffolk, who conveyed it to Rich. Andrews, and his heirs, by whom it was passed to Edmund Cartwright, whose posterity did lately, if they do not still, enjoy it.
