OSWALDESLAW, (Worcestershire) bet. Worcester city and Speechly, is the capital of a H. of its own name, and the place where Bp. Oswald used to keep his court, on a rising ground, where the H.-court is held still; and not far from it was St. Oswald's hos. built and endowed by him anno 960, and pulled down in the R. of Queen Eliz. but on the restoration of K. Cha. II. Dr. Fell erected a fair hos. in its place for 12 poor men.
