the Chetwinds; from whom it passed, thro' many hands, to Nich. Wotton, and thence in a direct line to Thomas Ld. Wotton;
and by his daughter to Henry Ld. Stanhope; from whom it was purchased by John Marsham, ancertor of the E. of Romney.
