PENKRIDGE, (Staffordshire) has a stone-bridge over the Penk, 100 cm. 121 mm. from London. The manor bel. to the Blounts in the R. of Ed. I. to Rob. Willoughby, Ld. Brook, in that of Hen. VII. and went by the heiress in marriage to Fulk Grevil, who sold it; but his grandson, who was created Ld. Brook by K. Ja. I. purchased it, and left it to his descendants. Here was once a mon. The Mt. is T. Fair Sept. 29. Here is one of the greatest horse-fairs in the world, both for the saddle and draught. It was obtained of Edw. II. by one of the Blounts.
