PENSHERST-HALYMOTE, alias OTFORD-WILD, (Kent) near Pensherst, was anciently held by lease, by the owners of Pensherst, from the Abps. of Canterbury, as being part of their manor of Otford. It afterwards went to the crown, and in the time of the civil war was given by the state to colonel Rob. Gibbons; but has since been in the possession of the E. of Leicester.
