The manor bel. formerly to the Camville's, then to the Leybourns; and falling to the crown, for want of heirs, was granted by Edw.III. to St. Mary-Grace-Abbey on Tower-Hill; but at the Diss. K. Edw. VI. granted it to Sir Thomas Cheyney; whose son, Henry Ld. Cheyney, sold it in the R. of Eliz. to Rich. Thornhill, Esq;.
