ROCK-SAVAGE, (Cheshire) on the Weever r. near Halton, and almost opposite to Fredsham, was called Clifton, and the seat of the late E. Rivers; whose ancestor, Sir John Savage, built a stately house here, where his grandson, Sir Tho. Savage, entertained K. Ja. I. and all his train at breakfast here, as they came for a buck in Halton-Park. It is since come by marriage to the E. of Barrimore.
