WING, (Buckinghamshire) near Ascot, was formerly a cell to the abbey of St. Albans, and was the barony of the Earl of Caernarvan, who had a seat here; and though the Earldom became extinct by his death, the barony still subsists in the descendants of Robert Dormer, created Baron of Wing by K. James I. whose grandson and heir was made Earl of Caernarvan.
