WITTRISHAM, (Kent) in the Isle of Oxney, 3 m. S. of Tenterden, had a college near it, and the manor-house is still called Wittrishiam-College. 'Tis said the manor was formerly given to Christchurch in Canterbury. At the Diss. it was given to Henry Crispe, whose son, Sir Nicholas, alienated it to Sir James Hales, and he to Mr. Freak, and it was sold in the R. of James I. by Sir Tho. Freak to Sir Tho.
