WOODFORD, (Northamptonshire) near Bifield and Ashby-Cannons, has in a neighbouring field by the r. Nyne, manifest tokens
of a place formerly possessed by the Romans; there being in a ground, called the Meadow-Furlong, abundance of the Roman,
dice-like bricks, and pieces of oddly engraven tiles; and some years ago a Roman urn was turned up here by the plough.
