ABBOT'S-ANN, a parish partly in the hundred of WHERWELL, but chiefly in the hundred of ANDOVER, Andover division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 2 miles (S.W. by W.) from Andover, containing, with the tything of Little-Ann, which is in the hundred of Wherwell, 526 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £ 42. 17. 6., and in the patronage of Sir James Burrough and the Rev. Thomas Burrough. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Here is a small endowed school.
