ACRISE, a parish partly in the hundred of FOLKESTONE,
but chiefly in that of LONINGBOROUGH, lathe
of SHEPWAY, county of KENT, 5 miles (N. N. W.) from
Folkestone, containing 186 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury,
rated in the king's books at £7, and in the patronage
of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Martin.
