ADISHAM, a parish in the hundred of DOWNHAMFORD, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, 2 miles (S. W. by S.) from Wingham, containing 305 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Staple annexed, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Archbishop of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £28. 3. l. The church, dedicated to the Holy Innocents, is a large cruciform edifice, with a low tower, in the early style of English architecture, except the large window of the transept, which is in the decorated style.
