ALBOURNE, a parish in the hundred of TIPKOAK, rape of BRAMBER, county of SUSSEX, 2 miles (W.N.W.) from Hurst - Pierrepoint, containing 360 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Lewes, and diocese of Chichester, rated in the king's books at £7. 14. 2., and in the patronage of Charles Goring, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, is in the early style of English architecture, with additions of a later date.
