ALLERTHORPE, a parish partly in the liberty of ST-PETER-of-YORK, but chiefly in the Wilton-Beacon division of the wapentake of HARTHILL, East riding of the county of YORK, comprising the townships of Allerthorpe and Waplington, and containing 151 inhabitants, of which number, 132 are in the township of Allerthorpe, l mile (S. W. by W.) from Pocklington. The living is a perpetual curacy, with the vicarage of Thornton annexed, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Dean of York.
