ALVESTON, a parish in the Snitterfield division of
the hundred of BARLICHWAY, county of WARWICK, 2
miles (E. N. E.) from Stratford, containing 630 inhabitants.
The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and
diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £6,
and in the patronage of the Rector of Hampton-Iaicy.
The church is dedicated to St. James.
