AMBERSHAM (NORTH), a tything in the parish
of STEEP, hundred of EAST-MEON, Alton (South) division
of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, though locally
in the hundred of Easebourne, rape of Chichester,
county of Sussex, 2 miles (E. N. E.) from Midhurst,
containing 134 inhabitants. This place is within the
jurisdiction of the Cheyney Court held at Winchester
every Thursday, for the recovery of debts to any
amount.
