ANNE, or BRIERS (ST.), a chapelry in the parish of HALIFAX, wapentake of MORLEY, West riding of the county of YORK, 3 miles (E. S. E.) from Halifax, with which the population is returned. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of York, endowed with £400 private benefaction, £600 royal bounty, and £2100 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Halifax.
