ANTHONY (WEST), a parish in the southern division
of the hundred of EAST, county of CORNWALL
5 miles (S.E.) from St.Germans, containing 2642-inA
habitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the
archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated
in the king's books at £ 12. 17. 8., and in the patronage
of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St.
James. There is a place of worship forWesleyan Methodists.
Ten poor children are instructed with the
interest of £300 left for that purpose.
