ARDLEY, a parish in the hundred of PLOUGHLEY,
county of OXFORD, 4 miles (N. W. byN.) from Bicester.,
containing 191 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the
king's books at £5. 12. 8., and in the patronage of
the Duke of Marlborough. The church is dedicated to
St. Mary.
