ASGARBY, a parish in the wapeutake of ASWARDHURN, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, Similes (E.) from Sleaford, containing 55 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, to which that of Kirkby le Thorpe was united in 1737, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £10. 14. 4., endowed with £1000 royal bounty, and £200 parliamentary grant, and ,in the patronage of the Marquis of Bristol. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, exhibits the later style of English architecture, and has a lofty tower surmounted by a fine crocketed .-spire.
