ASH, a parish comprising the chapelry of Frimley, in the first division of the hundred of GODLEY, and the tything of Normanby in the first division of the hundred of WOKING, county of SURREY, 5 miles (N. E. by E.) from Parnham, containing 1867 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Surrey, and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £15. 18. 11., and in the patronage of the Warden and Fellows of Winchester College. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. The Basingstoke canal crosses the northern part of the parish.
