ASHFIELD, a parish in the hundred of THREBLING,
county of SUFFOLK, 6 miles (W. by S.) from
Framlingham, containing, with the chapelry of Thorpe,
309 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, iu
the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich,
endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of Lord Henniker. The church is dedicated to St.
Mary.
