ASHMANSWORTH, a parish in the hundred of EVINGAR, Kingsclere division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 7 miles (N. N. W.) from Whitchurch, containing 1Q6 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of East Woodhay, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Bishop of Winchester. The church is dedicated to St. James. This parish is within the jurisdiction of the Cheyney Court held at Winchester every Thursday, for the recovery of debts to any amount.
