ASPALL, a parish in the hundred of HARTISMERE,
county of SUFFOLK, l£ mile (N. by W.) from Debenham,
containing 109 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese
of Norwich, and in the patronage of the Rev. C. Chevallier.
Here is a free school, endowed with land bequeathed
by the Rev. John Metcalf, in 1612, from the
produce of which £50 per annum is paid to the master,
and £10 to the usher.
