ASTON (CHURCH), a chapelry in the parish of
EDGMOND, Newport division of the hundred of BRADFORD
(South), county of SALOP, 1 mile (S.) from Newport,
containing 329 inhabitants. The chapel, dedicated
to St. Andrew, has recently been enlarged by the addition
of two hundred sittings, one hundred and fifty
of which are free, the commissioners for building and
enlarging churches and chapels having contributed
£ 100 towards defraying the expense.
