ASTON-CANTLOW, a parish in the Stratford
division of the hundred of BARLICHWAY, county of
WARWICK, 4 miles (N. E. by E.) from Alcester, containing
877 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage,
in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester,
rated in the king's books at £9. 9. 7., endowed with
£600 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the
Rev. R. S. Carles. The church is dedicated to St. John
the Baptist. The Stratford on Avon canal passes
through the parish.
