BALBY, a township, joint with Hexthorp, in that
part of the parish of DONCASTER which is in the soke
of DONCASTER, West riding of the county of YORK, 1§
mile (S. S. W.) from Doncaster, containing, with Hexthorp,
392 inhabitants. The first meetings of the
Society of Friends, under their founder, George Fox,
were held here, and in the neighbouring village of
Warmsworth.
