BARDSEA, a township in the parish of URSWICK, hundred of LONSDALE, north of the sands, county palatine of LANCASTER, 3 miles (S. byE.) from Ulverstone. The population is returned with the parish. Here are several malt-kilns, and in the neighbourhood is a copper mine. A school for the education of poor children is endowed with a rent-charge of £ 8, given by Wilson Braddyll, in 1781.
