BARHAM, a parish in Jhe hundred of KINGHAMFORD, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, 6 miles (S. E. byS.) from Canterbury, containing 912 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Bishopsbourne, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The Canterbury races are held annually, in the month of August, on Barham downs. Barbara gives the title of baron to the family of Noel.
