BARSHAM (WEST), a parish in the hundred of GALLOW, county of NORFOLK, 2 miles (N. N. W.) from Fakenham, containing 66 inhabitants. The living is a dischai'ged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £5.12.1., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Lady Mary Balders. A fair was formerly held here, but it has long been discontinued.
