BARTHOLOMEW-HOSPITAL (ST.), a liberty (extra-parochial), in the hundred of EASTRY, lathe of ST-AUGUSTINE, county of KENT, f of a mile (S.) from Sandwich, containing 61 inhabitants. The hospital, which is under the government of the corporation of Sandwich, was founded and liberally endowed, about H90, by Sir Henry Sandwich, for the support of a master, brethren, and sisters, each of whom has a house and garden, with a considerable pecuniary allowance.
