BARWICK, a parish in the hundred of SMITHDON, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (S. S. w.) from Burnharnt Westgate, containing 29 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £6, endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Mrs. Anne Hoste. The church, now desecrated, was dedicated to St. Mary.
