BATHEALTON, a parish in the hundred of MILVERTON,
county of SOMERSET, 2 miles (S.) from
Wiveliscombe, containing 105 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Bath, and diocese
of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at
£7. 2. 6., and in the patronage of the Bishop of Bath
and Wells. The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
A mile westward from it is a circular intrenchment,
within the area of which some Roman coins
have been discovered.
