BAYFORD, a parish in the hundred of HERTFORD, and county of
HERTFORD, 3 miles (S. S. W.) from Hertford, containing
307 inhabitants. The living iu a perpetual curacy,
annexed to the rectory of Essendon, in the archdeaconry
of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln. 'Ihc cbim-jj,
dedicated to St. Mary, is a neat, brick cdifi< e recently
erected, containing an ancient octangular font ornamented
with quatrefoils and rose.
